DanceWeb goes International

DanceWeb, the UK and Ireland dance listing website, has extended its reach. Now it is letting dancers from Canada and the USA list their events, classes and news on the site.

The performance took place at a milonga organised by Lynn of Casa de Practica last September.

Tango 59° open for booking

Booking is now open for Tango 59°, a week-long tango festival in Stockholm.

The event, which runs from the 7th to the 12th of August, features 10 milongas, a range of teachers and plenty of after-hours parties.

There's more information at the festival website. Book before 1 May,
and you will get a 15% Early Bird reduction on everything that you
book, which sounds like a good deal to me, but then, I'm quite tight…

An Author Discovers Tango

Author Tim Ferriss travels to Buenos Aires, and falls in love with tango:

I had no interest in tango before visiting Argentina. I thought it was effeminate and ridiculous, something out of Shall We Dance? (the Japanese original is not to be missed) The truth is that social tango is completely improvised (much like my first love, breakdancing). Chest to chest, strangers will embrace and get to know each other more in three minutes than 10 dates would otherwise accomplish.

Buenos Aires Bloggers

The list of links of the left hand side of thsi site is growing so rapidly (my, the tango blogging world is growing), that I've decided to start splitting the blogs into categories. The first is the Buenos Aries bloggers, which now appears under the main tango blogs list.

No doubt there will be more categories to follow...
