Her dress and shoes are pretty, but there is no embrace and his posture is terrible! I feel bad when these kinds of dancers put on shows and perform. The audience has no choice but to think what they are seeing is good tango.

Sherri,
I think that the post is about her dress...but isn't it funny how posture just seems to go out the window when dancers stop dancing tango and start dancing nuevo I mean we are all guilty of it especially the leaders, I know that I am, I also drive with my left hand at times!! the horror!!!
but that's nuevo, there's less connection so that's how it works for everyone. When I see a pic like the one above, I just assume they are dancing nuevo and leave it alone.
Check out this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KjRflYZfuvY
it's of Chicho Fumbroli, he is a master and my friends in BA say he's the man right now. But if you watch him closely his posture is canted forward at the shoulders like a cat, or rather like a nuevo dancer.
Naviera, Salsas...they all do it, I think it's the aesthetic of the form. They dance very straight up and down tango, but nuevo styling, is more like a cat stalking it's prey, and it looks hunched forward.
I'll put the embed here as well but i'm not sure the video will show up so go to the link if now.
cheers,
luis
